A Video of Someone Cracking Open a Mac mini

Mac Mini in HandsApple doesn’t want you to open up your Mac mini on your own, but judging from this video it looks pretty darn easy. This video, in fact, slightly changes my opinion of the Mac mini. Apparently all you need is a putty knife and a light touch, and the path to user upgradability is clear!

When I first saw the Mac mini, I like everyone else, thought ‘Whoa, that is cool!  Where can I buy one?’  The  most I heard about it, the less I liked it. Mind you, I still think it is a great little machine, it just isn’t for me.

It shipped with 256 megs of RAM, which isn’t enough, and bluetooth and Airport aren’t standard. What is the deal with that?

However, seeing how easy it is to open this sucker up, I can forgive the RAM. Mac enthusiasts, and PC users, start your credit cards!

Wow! That's great to see and know! Now the one big thing I'd like to know is how long these machines are expected to last with the 2.5" hard drive they have in them. I'm not talking about speed, but recommended uptime and such. If I were to use the Mac Mini as a server, would I have to worry about the hard drive being overtaxed and dying?
