Confirm Apple considering TiVo buyout

sad TiVo logo Well, looks like these rumours were true: Apple is looking at putting TiVo out of its misery. Macrumors sounds a little bit too bored when they say “TiVo represents an easy buy for Apple, and could increase their options in the video field.”

Apologies if I come across as too hoity-toity here but, like, duh!

woohoo, then when I want to buy a new tivo I can get charged twice as much for it! I bet service will be equally cheap!

Wouldn't it be great, though? Apple could clean up. Then again, from what I hear, TiVo already have the UI side down pretty good. So Apple would just be bringing the cash. Hmm.

How can the "rumors be true" when they haven't been confirmed by either company? It's still just a rumor.
