Super (Rip-off) Shuffle!
Thanks to reader, Daniel M. Gattermann, for writing in with the news of the
Luxpro Corp Super Shuffle, which is quite possibly the most blatant
rip-off of an Apple product that I’ve seen in years. As Daniel notes, they ”even copied the look of the iPod
ads.”
Daniel spotted the story about this product over at MacNews.de, where
they have a nice collection of pictures of
the Super Shuffle in action, ripe and awaiting a lawsuit from Apple. According to the makers of the Super
Shuffle,”We had the same idea.”
I wonder how long it will take Apple to sue them out of existence? Ausgezeichnet!

While Apple fights this one out in court, I would like to know where to get one of these bad boys in store. I am sure they cost much less than the 99 and 149 apple charges.
March 19 2005 at 12:58 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe Apple Shuffle comes with FM Tuner built-in. Apple decided not to enable it for other reasons. But the functionality is in every Apple Shuffle sold. It's just *NOT* turned on. Time to do surgery....

March 16 2005 at 1:02 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis company has absolutely no retail information on their site. As far as I know this product isnt available in the US.
March 11 2005 at 11:10 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Reply7) Brett, the company is real. They exist. And the product is real as well. It happens a lot more often than one thinks. Asia is a notorious world of piracy and knock-offs. But it's funny how someone can claim that this item is "obviously" fake, yet post on their blog the following regarding Amber alerts: "When you add together the two scenarios I just mentioned, here is what you get: Some white trash family has a custody issue over their mongoloid child, one kidnaps the child from the other, the police are notified, they issue an amber alert, every idiot on the freeway has to stop and read it, and I am stuck in traffic for an extra half hour for no reason! This really needs to stop, seriously." Amber alerts are a waste, and products proven to be real are fake. Please.

March 10 2005 at 2:33 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis is OBVIOUSLY a bogus lead/story, no company in the world would so blatantly rip off the design of a competitor's product. There are so-called knock-offs, and then there is just plain stealing another company's patented/trademarked product design, which this would be if the pictures are accurate. I question the pix also, the one with the red background is identical to the one on Apple's site with a green background. We should all know better than to believe something just because it's posted on the web somewhere! http:/randomtruth.blogspot.com/
