Mac mini March: Opening Mac mini Sans Putty Knife

mac mini insidesHere’s some info for all you would-be Mac mini hackers who have avoided breaking open your mini via putty knife in fear of scratching or damaging the casing: Mac mini Hacks forums has a nice how to complete with pictures that covers opening the Mac mini without a putty knife and without any scratches. What’s the secret passkey you ask?  Little wires from an eviscerated network cable looped around the tabs, first used to pull each tab back and free from the casing, and then pulled together to free the entire Mac mini from the casing.

Neat.  Now there is really no reason to pay for Apple’s overpriced RAM.

Tip of the Day

Holding the Command key (aka the Apple key) and pressing Tab will cycle through your open applications. It's easier to Cmd-Tab if you are Copy (Cmd-C) and Pasting (Cmd-V) to and from various applications.
