SuperDrive Firmware Update

Apple logoIf you have a Power Mac G5 (June 2004), Power Mac G5 (Late 2004), or an eMac (USB 2.0), then Apple just released a SuperDrive firmware update for your machine. The firmware is supposed to "improve reliability when accessing DVD and CD media."

My money is on it having something to do with prepping for Tiger, too.

"This is not needed for mac's with tiger." Thats what I meant, is Tiger going to update all the firmware stuff.

Yes, except for the firmware ones. You could erase the drive a thousand times and the firmware would still be the same.

CK, all these little things that are "prepping" for Tiger, I am assuming I do not need to worry about them if I am going to do a clean sweep and install Tiger, right?
