OS X IP telephony news
Some good news for Mac-loving enterprise phone system managers. The VoIP Weblog notes that Benjamin Kowarsch, who built the first Mac OS X installer of Asterisk, the open-source PBX and VoIP server, is now spearheading the creation of OS X device drivers for Digium's Zaptel telephony cards.Ted Wallingford concludes that this is A Good Thing (tm) and that the "notorious stability and security of Mac OS X (and its widely-available commercial support) make it a fantastic platform for IP telephony."

My ISP (TulsaConnect) uses Asterisk as their PBX along with some IP phones they picked up somewhere. The techs can work from darned near anywhere on the net and their phone "just rings" through.
VERY cool technology. Even cooler it's coming to OSX!
