TIME proclaims Tiger "Gadget of the Week"
Wilson Rothman of TIME.com names Mac OS X Tiger Gadget of the Week. Cool, albeit a little odd since it's an operating system and not "a small mechanical device or tool, esp. an ingenious or novel one." That definition is from Tiger's built-in Oxford American Dictionary, which happens to be the first bulleted feature that 'we might not know about' that he mentions, after extolling on the virtues of Widgets and the Dashboard.
His list is overall a bit bizarre. The five features he chooses are the Dictionary, Migration Assistant, Quicktime's HD functionality, Album Art as a screen saver, and VoiceOver. These are all cool, but I think most people know at least three out of the five. Also, I honestly think this is the first article I've read about Tiger that doesn't spend several paragraphs praising Spotlight.

I just can't get over having to spend so much money to upgrade an OS. Remember when OS' were free?

It's nice to see a reviewer thinking for himself and finding some features he likes that are different from what the rest of the pack thinks.

Honestly, I don't think Spotlight is all that great. How often do I really need to search for things? I store my files in logical folders, like documents in Documents, pictures in Pictures... Dashboard is my favorite Tiger addition.
