Best. Keyboard. Ever.

Das Keyboard is a 104-key USB keyboard with all completely blank keys and it's Mac OS X compatible. Now let's see who the better touch-typist is, shall we?
I'm a dork for admitting this, but I'd buy one if it was white :)

I love typing without looking at the keyboard, what a challenge it is

Apple Extended Keyboard.
That's the Best. Keyboard. Ever!
I know, I have 4 of them and I'm typing on one of them right now.

I agree with Chris - the last good keyboard I've used is the Apple Extended Keyboard (first version). I, too, still use mine and wish I could figure out a way to use EKs on my PC and SGI Indy.
Althought the mind plays tricks with age, the best keyboard I've ever used was the Cherry keyboards used in the Tektronics 4014 graphics terminals of late 1970's.
However, at $80, I think I'll resist the urge to order the Das Keyboard.

Sorry to disagree, but after 30 years of typing from typewriters throughtoday, my hands, fingers and wrists get too sore if I am not typing on an ergonomic split keyboard.
I just wish there was one that was truly Mac compatible - I hate what I am using now in terms of Mac functionality but my hands need it.

Nice idea, but why spend $80 on one of those when you could get a far cheaper standard USB keyboard and just paint over the keys?

I've never used one of these blank key keyboards, but it thats all they have going for them, they cant possibly be the best keyboards...
The best keyboard ever is the IBM Model M - no company will ever put as much effort into designing and manufacturing a durable, efficient or comfortable keyboard. If you've never used one or don't know what they are check out Dan's data revew:

I'm much more interested by Das Keyboard's keypress weighting; different keys require more or less force depending on which finger is hitting them.
(I also do like the blank keycaps; they enforce touch-typing and that's cool.)

I looked even closer at this thing, and
A) its pretending to be a Model M... the plastic is shaped like the model M
B) It does NOT use buckling spring switches... it uses the cheap membrane switch like almost every other keyboard on the market...
C) The lack of key labels also cuts down on price with no benifit to the user...
Of course I've never used one, but from what it looks like its just a normal keyboard without keycaps. And the weighting thing seems terribly uninteresting to me.

I imagine that this keyboard would be of great help to typing instructors.
Although why they couldn't just use nail polish on the keys, I don't know...

Not to mention, this is just a rebadged $25 Keytronic keyboard.
