Mail trick under Tiger

mailI wasn’t aware of this until I read about it over at Wishingline. If you do a "get info" (Command-i) on any mailbox in Tiger's version of Mail, an Account Info window appears. From there you can do all sorts of useful things, including check on your current quota limits, adjust the behavior of the drafts, sent items and junk mail folders of that particular mailbox and edit the contents of any of that mailboxes' subfolders. Pretty handy. I tried to do the same under Panther and it did not work.

Doesn't work for me either. I have 9 email address (1 .Mac, the rest work-related) and no such window appears. Oh well. Fishes, narco.

But this only works for top-of-the-list mailboxes, directly associated with accounts. All other mailboxes, including those classified as "On My Mac," do not appear in the info window. Since Apple, much to my dismay, removed the status bar, I can't find out the volume of message content there.
