Virtual PC 7.0.2 adds Tiger Support
Microsoft Virtual PC 7.0.2 is now fully Tiger compatible. No more annoying "Virtual Transport doesn't work blah blah" errors. Good.If anyone who reads TUAW has one of those developer Mactel boxes out there, then please try this: Install Windows on your box. Install Tiger on your box. Now install Microsoft Virtual PC on the Tiger installation and Pear PC on the Windows installation. Then install Microsoft Virtual PC on the Pear PC installation of Tiger, and Pear PC on the Microsoft Virtual PC installation. And keep on going like that until your mind (or your computer) explodes.

That was ... strange.
Anywho, I still haven't taken the plunge to Tiger on my PowerBook. Does anyone have any experience running Virtual PC on Tiger at 512 MB of RAM and then upgrading to 1 GB of RAM? Virtual PC runs like molassas on my PB, and I wondered how much difference RAM would make.

Porchland, it wont make a diffrence.
i have a g4 ibook, i ran Vpc on it with first 256 ram, then 1.25 gb ram. No diffrence.
Knock yourself out.

Finally! I was just thinking this morning how annoyed I was the M$ was dragging their ass on this one. Using Virtual PC for connecting into my work's VPN makes my life a million times easier.
In response to Porchland, I noticed an increase in the actual speed of the Powerbook while trying to do other things. The Virtual PC itself was better, but not great. The key is to make sure you have enough memory dedicated to the Virtual PC memory to keep it from swapping all the time.
