New iTunes Phone?
Peter Rojas of Engadget fame has posted the above picture wondering aloud to the innermost ear of the Internet: "Is this the iTunes phone?"
If it is, you can tell that Apple had less to do with its design than Motorola did. I think it looks like one of the robot suppositories I've read about in Star Wars fan fiction of the most horrible kind. Scott, on the other hand, says he likes it, and that it looks like "a phone... FROM THE FUTURE!"
What do you think? Is this it?

Of course that's not it! Fake, fake pictures.

I would worry a lot less about dropping/breaking an iPhone than my iPod. $35 to get a new iPhone using a handset replacement program vs. $300+ to replace a dead iPod. Of course, being trapped by a Sprint contract it doesn't really matter to me either way. No way Sprint carries an iPhone in the near future.

June 29 2005 at 5:53 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThat thing is fugly. I'd bet it's not real. Motorola designs lately have been really angular -- see the RAZR. Why suddenly go all smooth? Something about that thing just strikes me as fake. I'd bet $1 it's not the iTunes phone that gets released.
June 29 2005 at 5:48 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyPersonally, I really like the look of it. 99% of current phones look boring and much the same. I want something that screams different and in a futuristic way. I dig it. Too bad it will most likely never be available by a Canadian carrier, well, maybe in 3 years it might. *sigh* And you Americans think you have it rough being so behind the Japanese coolness with phones... try being behind Japan, USA & Europe. Canada sucks sometimes.

June 29 2005 at 5:32 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIs it just me or does the dark color on the phone look like a skin? If I remember correctly there have been several pictures similar to this floating around but it was a white/silver phone. Maybe that's what it is for real.
