New Mac Mini?

Mac miniTamb01 on the Mac Bidouille forums just ordered a new 1.42 Ghz Mac Mini. He's not getting it:

J'ai une commande en cours sur l'Apple Store.
MACMINI 1.42GHZ/512/80G/CMD/F
Est. Build On or before 11/07/2005
Replaced with new product

No word yet on what they're replacing it with (or why they're not guaranteeing it before September November July 11th, which makes more sense) but the upcoming product announcments may be a lot more interesting than some new iPods and the much anticipated iPod phone. And that's a good thing because, quite frankly, I'm not sure that an iPod Phone, while fun, would really have been worth the build up.

(Thanks to Vincent for pointing this out, and assuring me that it translates as "you have just placed an order" and not "you have just asked for the heart of the Apple Store" or you have just cursed the Apple Store". French was never my strong suit.)

Any further news about the new Mac Mini. I understand that the 1.42 Ghz is out of stock, but there is still no advise from Apple regarding any release.

#20 - It's too early for Intel Macs to be coming out. I think the earliest we'll see them is January. And a Mini would make a pretty lousy game machine with it's outdated integrated graphics (I'm sure the new model will still be relatively underpowered). Unless you're still playing Half-Life 1, you'd be much better off building a Shuttle PC to take to LAN parties.

quote: By the same token, everybody that lives in the continent America, is an American. There is no continent 'America' there is a continent 'North America' and everyone who lives there could be called North American...but for those who live in the country United States of America, they are called American. The Canadian is right, he/she is not 'American'. By the way, you may call everyone in europe, european, but most people I know in europe would never refer to themselves as european, except if you directly asked what continent they were from...most people are comfortable with national distinctions. sorry to rant, *notices everyone staring*...ok carry on.

Jorge - The continent is North America, not America. So call us North Americans or Canadians, but please don't call us Americans ;-)

I don't know what Canada you live in, but every single business correspondance and invoice I have gotten in the mail, from universities / utilities / banks / insurance companies / you NAME it, have ALWAYS had month / day / year. Just like the Americans. No exceptions have I ever seen in my 36 years on this planet EXCEPT when I travelled to Europe. This is in Toronto, Ontario.

maybe, just maybe, we can expect to see the words ibm powerpc replaced with the words intel pentium already? (hoping and praying) i would love to have an intel mac mini already, becuase i tried a mac mini at the local best buy and loved tiger, the visuals are great, definately will use tiger as my main os, but unfortunately, still need windows for my games, as i play half life and counter strike. don't go flaming me just because i depend on windows xp, it will only be there for games. i think the mac mini would be great for lan parties since its so small, which i do attend many times, and have to steal our family hp pavilion, so my own mac mini would be great, especially if i can get windows for my games. and all you fanboys don't go flaming me either because i'm installing win xp on the mini.

Doesn't most of the world use the year-month-day format for dating?

It looks like metric countries use day/month/year and non-metric countries (the US and... hmmm? yeah, just the US!) use month/day/year.
