HP adds iPod shuffle to its lineup
Today HP added the iPod shuffle to its lineup of iPods. From the press release: "The Apple iPod shuffle from HP, the most affordable iPod to date,
allows users to experience their music a million different ways.
Smaller and lighter than a pack of gum, the Apple iPod shuffle from HP
comes with its own lanyard, so it's ready to wear right out of the box."HP is selling both the 512MB model for $99.99 USD and the 1GB model for $129.00 USD. And with that, the iPod empire speads just a bit further.

"all current apple ipods do work with pc's though" Well, all iPod's work with Windows.... I'm working on a tutorial on how to get it to work with Linux over at my Apple site... it's a little more work than just plug-n-play thanks to Apple not writing us poor Linux users any software.

Now you and I know that this may at first appear to be stupid but from my experience with helping users with Macs and Windows, the level of ignorance is very high. Another reason is the after care service, which is 90 days with Apple and one year with HP. Another reason why they must be selling well at HP is that they are expanding the range to include the Shuffle if no one was buying from HP then they wouldn't sell them, I suspect they are selling well. As for reasons why HP sell them, I think they can bundle iTunes with their PCs which makes them more competitive with companies such as Sony which already bundle decent (better than WMP) cd/mp3 music organisational software.
