Is the Motorola E790 the iTunes phone?
According to Engadget, it's very possible. There's no 100% guarantee that this is the iTunes phone we've all been waiting for, but the facts are this phone does sync with iTunes, does have the same interface as the iPod and uses the same autofill feature as the iPod shuffle in iTunes. This particular phone was equipped with a
128MB TransFlash card. This could be the big one, dear readers. We should know for sure on Thursday.

Have you ever seen Apple put function before form? Apple knows that to make a great product you have to balance both. Would it make sense to introduce a new product in a new market, and make it look like every other ugly phone out there?

Saw this on the Motorola website for the SLVR. MP3 player to store, repeat, shuffle and play favorite tunes; 22Khz polyphonic speaker Up to 5 MB of end user memory; up to an additional 256 MB with a removable memory card Hmmm, sounds kind of iTunes compatable, eh? Its available in the 3rd qt. to boot :)

Its ugly, its SO slow, and my V3 has so many superfluous buttons that all do the same thing, but only in certain menus, and other things in other menus, its ridiculous. Any Moto iPhone is going to be a chore to use, and Apple, by association is going to get hurt by Motos crappy OS *sad face*
July 04 2005 at 11:05 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhy are most Tuawers putting Moto hardware way down ? Have any of you personally seen the E398 in person or owned it ? I got one myself and I think it looks great. This phone, E790 is built off the E398 (syncs with Address Book and iCal beautifully...), which is mp3 capable but the software sucks, so the iTunes of Apple in addition will make it much better. It even has a very good stereo loudspeaker for a mobile IMHO (if and when you don't feel like having the earphones on or those occasions when you want to share some tunes with friends...)

When was the last time Apple put their name on a product that didn't make you go, "wow, that looks amazing!?" The phone in these photos gets anything but that reaction -- it looks like it could be three years old or something. You can bet that the real iPhone will be a head turner, not a "ho-hummer".
July 03 2005 at 11:03 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyTim O: Very plausible. I've come to expect beautiful hardware from Apple. Remember, too, that Apple is not determining the look of this product (as far as we know), and is just letting Moto use a mobile version of iTunes. Still, a sleek, sexy Ive influenced phone would rock.
July 03 2005 at 11:00 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI just want to quote a entry from the engadget comments, because I think it is a good one. 19. Posted Jul 3, 2005, 4:45 PM ET by Richard Something just occured to me. (i hope this is the case anyway). The iTunes phone has to be tested on the network so perhaps all these phones being leaked are just protypes to they can be tested, with the real beautiful phone being kept very secret. These phones maybe the same inside so this could make sense. This would also explain why these shots may have leaked.

July 03 2005 at 10:39 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI've been reading that there will be a line of phones - so there could be low end and high end. Perhaps this would simply be one of them.
