MacWorld TUAW meetup
Macworld Expo Boston is fast approaching, and three fifths of TUAW will be live and on hand at the Expo looking at cool stuff, and scrounging around for bloggable bits. Now, we here at TUAW love our readers and thought it would be the bee's knees if we could organize a meetup of sorts whilst we are on the ground in Boston.Since Dave, Laurie, nor I are native Bostonians we thought we would ask you if you had any suggestions for a venue. At the moment Tuesday, July 12th in the evening looks the best, but we're open to suggestions on that end as well. We're thinking of meeting in the lobby of the Lenox (where Laurie had the good sense of booking well in advance).
On a wholly selfish note, I still need to find a hotel for myself. Anyone have a good hotel near the convention center that I can stay at? Leave a comment.
Oh, and if you are going to be exhibiting at the Expo and want to set up some time to talk to one of us about why your products are super cool just use our handy contact form and let us know (the same goes if you are hosting a super cool party and want to invite us, or if you want to give us delicious candy).

One is from Radtech and the other from Intego. They sent them to me but I already had a pass from the macworld expo website. List the email and I'll send the pdf.

I see that the convention is actually at the Hynes convention center, not at the big new convention center in Southie. That's right on the Green Line, at the aptly named Hynes stop. So, for affordability, you might like this hotel. It's not in Boston, but it's right at the end of the "D" line, a one-seat ride.

July 06 2005 at 7:19 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWelcome to Boston! I hope to meet up with you guys. The Lennox is an incredibly nice hotel. Meeting up in the lobby could be interesting as it's a fairly upscale place. If there are going to be a ton of people they might not be so interested in a bunch of apple folks putting around in the lobby. Plus if memory serves me well it might not be the biggest lobby, but honestly it's been awhile since I've been there. I checked on the bookings page and it looks like most of the hotels in the vacinity are booked up. My buddy lives downtown in the North End. I'll ask him what he thinks your best options are for a hotel near the Hynnes.

July 06 2005 at 4:49 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHey all - none of this dissin' on Boston! Hynes Convention Center is right on Boylston St. where plenty of cool bars can be found - the Cactus Club, Bukowski's and The Pour House, just to name a few. There is also the Prudential Center and its assorted restaurants for those looking for something a bit more tame (and quiet). Hotel bars are good too, namely Solas (in the bottom of the Lenox). TUAW can make its own fun! Anyone interested in a Wed or Thurs night social instead?
