Plug Those PowerBook Ports with Portectorz

portectorz
Do the gaping holes on the left side of your PowerBook cause you to wake-up in a cold sweat from your fevered OCD-driven nightmares involving a sandy beach, a faulty laptop bag, and your PowerBook suddenly becoming the North wall of your little cousin's sandcastle? Me too.

Portectorz to the rescue. Although the product name initially makes you think you've gone dyslexic, make sure you check out the actual product page. Think of Portectorz as the little Dutch boy's thumb to the dike that is your PowerBook's open ports. From the product page: "Portectorz are molded to exacting specifications to ensure a perfectly sealed and secure fit - sensible insurance for potentially costly component damage. Low-profile design ensures compatibility with all sleeves, bags, cases and packs. Use the entire Portectorz panel, or easily custom cut the strip to create protection for any of the ports or combinations you desire - like those you use infrequently."

Currently available for 12-14" iBooks, 12-15" Powerbooks, and with a 17" PowerBook version in the works, the Portectorz will set you back anywhere from $19.95 to $23.95, depending on which model you need. Check it out.

Tip of the Day

To find out what version of Mac OS you are running, go to the Apple logo in the top left corner, click it and choose About This Mac. From that window you will see the version number, processor, memory and chosen startup disk. Clicking Software Update will check for updates, and More Info... will open up an extensive list of everything on your machine.
