Macworld doesn't suck?
Maybe I'm becoming jaded in my old age, and perhaps I have always been a cynic, but I still think Macworld sucks. However, I am not the entire Mac web, though many think I should be.Dan at macteens thinks that Macworld Boston doesn't suck as much as it did last year, and that the Expo floor does have some worthwhile stuff on it.
Dan is right. There is some very cool stuff here, but overall Macworld Boston will go down in history as the suckiest Macworld I have ever been to (no need to mention this is the only Macworld I have attended).

In the late '80 and early '90 MacWorld/Boston was a huge show. At that time Macworld/Boston filled both the Bayside Expo Center and the World Trade Center. (Both of which are bigger than the space used in the Hynes this week.) It was a lot of fun and it most definitely did not suck. Today I hit the expo floor and was done in 15 minutes. Good thing I had a free pass. It's sad that the exhibition has come to this. But the times have changed and trade shows in general aren't what they used to be. I did hear positive reports about the conference sessions.

July 14 2005 at 10:00 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI just went today, and man am I glad I didn't have to pay for my entrance. The current MacWorld has reached sucky escape velocity and is currently orbiting Planet Suck. It's like a flea market in a high-school gym, mid-November in the rust belt. Only reason to stay there longer than a half hour is if you're waiting for your friends to show up so you can go to the Pourhouse (right accross the street, ask for Buzz the coolest bartender in Boston). I'm quoting liberally from a post on the MacTeens website because it appears that they've shut down commenting on this thread (I can post to every other article), possibly in response to my post stating that I felt that this MacWorld does, in fact, suck, regardless of Mr. Pourhadi's arguments. If he did close commenting down in the face of disagreement, well, that sucks most of all. Actually, it might blow. Haven't decided yet. But it's not cool - of that I'm certain.
