Widget Watch: Azureus Dashboard Widget
As you most likely know, I like Azureus. So, I was more than interested when I saw this Azureus Dashboard widget. For the most part, I think widgets that merely serve as a Dashboard face for a non-Dashboard program are useless. Not the case with this one, as it can also be used "for remote torrent management—for instance, if you use a machine other than your main workstation for BitTorrent downloads—but works just as well for controlling Azureus on your local machine."
Check it out.

Awesome widget!! This will work great with a faceless Mac Mini acting as a media server.

Erm, you sure you want to advertise in the pic for this post that you're downloading movies and TV shows?

AHM: The items in the screenshot are all legal torrents. The first two came from chomskytorrents.org; the next three are Ubuntu CD images.

Thanks for the info as I downloaded it and find that it's the best bit torrent app I have ever come across whether mac or pc, the download speeds are incredible. I have tried edonkey 2000 amd amule for mac but all they seem to do is allows others to leech off you and the download speeds are tiny.

I cannot get this widget to work and can't find any directions anywhere, either. I get:
- Can't Connect to Azureus!
- Are you sure the host name and port are correct? Is Azureus running? Is the plugin configured properly?
The thing is, I don't know what the host name or port are. I opened the port on my firewall for Azureus (6881) and the program itself is working fabulously! But the widget is uncooperative and mocks my attempts at configuration.
Are there directions on the web somewhere?
Thanks,
Tim in San Francisco
