Doom ported to iPod

doompodI didn't think this was real when I first read it, but apparently it is. The iPodLinux group has ported a playable version of Doom to the iPod. Specifically, it is "...playable on the iPod photo," and it "...'works' on 1-4G's and Mini 1G/2G." You can save games and play saved games. What will those Linux developers think of next?

Of course, you've got to have Linux running on your iPod in order for this to work, a proposal that's not for everyone (there has not yet been a stable release for non-developers). If you're comfortable with that and willing to try it out, we'd love to hear about your experience. Drop us a line in the comments or via our tips form.
