How to Create Your Own ILM for Almost Nothing

Victor, over at DownloadSquad, has posted one of the most amazing How Tos. If you are at all interested in DIY film-making, you're going to want to go check it out.
There's a lot of good gems in the tutorial, including a link to Director's Boards, which I didn't know about and Blender, which I've mentioned here before. I also like that the Mac system recommended for the project is a Mac mini. That alone is a pretty good argument against the Macs are more expensive than PCs myth.

Fantastic article. I hope to film some short films over the next year and there is some good info in there. I planned on using my Mini to do the editing...until I can afford a big-ass G5 or Mactel next year.

You do realize that the mac mini isn't the primary computer being used there. the linux box is the main video editing system. the mini is for doing quick cut and paste edits while the linux box is too busy.

And you also realize that a PC at the same price point as the mac mini blows it away. BLOWS it away.
So yes, macs are still more expensive than PCS.
