GTalk Mac?

It seems all the talk today is about Google Talk. personally, I'm nonplussed. I need another messenging service like a fish needs...another messaging service. I know that because Google is behind it, though, it's going to be big, and as a Mac user that gives me pause. Google's track record for launching services simultaneously on both Mac and PC isn't great. If Dave's source is right about it running on Jabber, so much the better; we have Jabber clients in spades. But if it's taking more than Jabber to handle the voice chat News.com is reporting, then I have just this to say: please Google, don't release this until you have a Mac client or iChat integration ready.

And Do The Right Thing with the TOS, too.

Does this not work with iChat with OSX 10.3? I can't figure out how to configure it. Is this another reason I should get off my duff and upgrade to Tiger?

Well, I've tryed it in iChat using audio and video and it works smooth. The video quality is not good because the iSight poor way to capture light i guess and the MPEG4 Codec they should use.

I'm using GTalk through iChat and can get voice chats well. Your IM ID is your Gmail account name @gmail.com

It's Jabber-based--you can use Adium, iChat, gaim, or any other Jabber client you can run on OS X. Works perfectly.

I would guess that iChat integration could come fairly fast, if it is based off of Jabber. Now that iChat supports Jabber and iChat already does audio, im sure little to no "hacking" would be all too necessary.
