Apple advertising Dashboard Widgets... on Yahoo!

This one happens to be an ad for the Stock Ticker Widget, aptly on a Yahoo Finance article. If you refresh this page (link) a few times you'll probably see it for yourself. If not, here's a SnapzPro movie I grabbed of it. Even more beautiful is the final frame of the ad, which is a) false and b) pretty ballsy considering the site it's running on!

The only ones I've seen are on Yahoo. Has ayone seen these elsewhere? They seem to fit in with the magazine spreads Apple has been doing, but I am not sure if this is a new campaign or just variations on a theme.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Not that funny really - more like pathetic.
Why? Dashboard is an inferior product than Konfabulator.

I think it'd be ballsier for Apple to advertise on the Unofficial Microsoft Weblog. (shameless plug for a sister site)
I went to Yahoo financial and refreshed my browser at least 30 times and the ad never came up.

Dashboard widgets can access all the OSes features and APIs, use Cocoa and do many many, many other things that Konfab cannot do. Does Konfab support the very useful Canvas tag to name just one? Dashboard is Konfab + many other features.
So why is Konfab "superior" again? If you are thinking about using widgets amongst any other window, there is a free program that does this for Dashboard, and you can actually bring DB widgets on the desktop without any third party apps.
I'm getting tired of these Konfab wakos. Get over it, Konfab was not the first desk accessory system that is "easy" to write to. Now that Konfab is owned by Yahoo, they will own the code to any widget you publish through their site! Also, don't expect any official widgets from sites and services competing with Yahoo.
How much time did it take for Konfab to reach the 750+ widgets they have? And how much time it took for Dashboard to reach 1000+ widgets? A fraction of the time...

Just for the sake of accuracy, the current number of widgets available for Konfabulator at their site is 931.
Of course most of them are lame, but then so are 99% of the Dashboard widgets. And the fact that Konfabulator runs on Windows may be of interest to one or two people out there.

The adverts don't look very authentic. For example, Apple never use full stops or periods after product names on their adverts. Apple would never write "click to learn more". It just doesn't look like a very Apple advert to me.

LOL @ Tom - I can assure you I didn't make it up. The quicktime clip was made by me, while I was looking at the page, which I refreshed about 5 times before the ad appeared again.
It's real - that was never in question.

I never questioned your evidence ;)
I've seen a few of these around now. They have the look of being made by the Apple marketing department, rather than of a professional company, such as made the iPod adverts.

Yeah, Konfabulator is just a rip off of OneClick from OS 9. That was a powerful widget programming app. It was awesome.

No need to have a faith war - one can use both, Dashboard AND Konfabulator, believe me! ;-) And both have their advantages and disadvantages, just take the best out of two, where's the prob? GinGin.
