Playlist has slick iPod hacks

iPods of 2005iPods used to be music players but now they are platforms unto themselves. Millions of people around the globe own one of these little pieces of consumer electronic perfection, and that means that people have been 'hacking' their iPods for a long time now.

Playlist has listed six hacks that they think are the slickest hacks out there. Most of them involve installing Linux on your iPod which voids your warranty, so iPod hacker beware.

"warrants the iPod... product against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year" "This Limited Warranty does not apply to any non-Apple hardware product or **any software**, even if packaged or sold with the iPod or iSight product." The warranty is a hardware warranty. Software need not apply. They wouldn't turn you away if you had Yellow Dog dual-booting on your PowerBook either...

Apple services Linux iPods, and have as long as linux has been running on the music player.
