Flickr updates Uploadr for OS X

uploadrStop the presses! First we get an actual Mac OS X application utility from Google, and now Flickr's Uploadr for OS X has been updated for Tiger. Isn't this some sort of sign?

Anyway, I've been using Uploadr for a little while this evening and it's pretty nice.  Drag and drop images from either iPhoto or the Finder onto the Uploadr application to get started. Transfer a single photo or move several photos in batches. I've put a copy in my Dock as well as my Finder window's toolbar for easy access. It's not going to replace the Flickr iPhoto plugin for me, but I will use it for stray photos that haven't made their way into iPhoto. Flickr Uploadr requires Mac OS 10.3 or better and is free. View some screenshots after the jump.

uploadr_indv

Upload a single image. After a one-time authorization (done via your browser), you're all set. Here you can add a title, description, tags and edit privacy settings.

uploadr_resize

Would you like that image resized? Select your desired dimensions and Flickr takes care of the grunt work.

uploadr_batch

Transfer many photos at once by clicking the "Batch" tab.

uploadr_complete

Transfer complete. Now wasn't that easy?

Is this new version screwing up tag assignments for anyone else?

Updated for Tiger is one thing, but is it updated for Yahoo?

Though I love Flickr, or used to before Yahoo stepped in, I'm not too excited about this as I just export my photos through iPhoto as it is... doesn't get any easier than that, as it exports tags as well....

i think the third party app 1001 is way much better because it saves your tags and shows them on a clickable list in the main window. very convenient. i mean it sucks that you in uploadr have to type the tags each time. ok you can batch type in but no clicks like in 1001.

Excellent! It does seem like a sign, doesn't it? :) I think it's time I sign up for Flickr, I've been spending too much time there as it is, might as well share some stuff :)
