Open Source Mac list

TUAW reader Dimitri is working on a list of the best Open Source software for the mac. It's still in it's infancy, but it's a valiant effort. Most of my must-haves, like Aquamacs and VLC are there, although there are some notable omissions (YDL and TeXShop, for instance). There are some real finds, too, like WordNet and Smultron, which just filled an empty hole in my text editor line up. Drop by and take a look. Follow the links to something that looks interesting, and send Dimitri the links to your favorite Open Source projects if he doesn't have them already.

Tip of the Day

Use Spotlight as a reference tool. Type any word in the Spotlight box and one of the top entries will be a definition. Click on it, and it will bring up the dictionary application to check the word in either the dictionary, thesaurus, Apple database, or Wikipedia.
