iPod nano
Goodbye, iPod mini. Hello, iPod nano. It comes in 2GB and 4GB flavors, both with color screens, and priced at $199 and $249 respectively.
Even better, it comes in both white and black. Nice! I want one.

only 4GB? i might hav considered buying one if it was 6GB, and only if i could trade it in for my ipod mini. i should hav got a 6GB mini, i need more space. the 'nano' needs more colours, black is cool, but i wouldnt get black, ipods were meant to be white

September 21 2005 at 8:08 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyA) The headphone jack is on the bottom because it's so thin that the screen takes up the entire top. Apple isn't stupid, one of the reasons the iPod is so successful is the acessories. They wouldn't destroy that if they didn't have to. B) No, they're trying to get rid of mini's, so the $180 off of an iPod is not valid on the Nano. C) Why do you people need video so damn much? The iPod has worthless bass as is, if you put more resources on video than audio, it can only get worse. Plus it would take a radical redesign to allow for a big enough screen to make video viewing worthwhile as is. D) The iPod Nano is the new Shuffle. They added the two things those who wouldn't buy a shuffle complained about; lack of screen, and more space. E) I personally like it, I might get one for working out as soon as I can scrounge together a little cash.

September 09 2005 at 5:56 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyDid anyone read the NY times article where steve jobs says he was glad the nano wasnt leaked Well it was ...K.Rose could be the sourve for this one here another site i found I find that the new flash player whip the minis I always hated the look of those players They never fit into the Apple family They were simply cheap looking At least now that Samsung is on the Apple team nobody will even come out with a player to challenge this http://www.epicempire.com/mp3-players/ipod-nano.html
September 09 2005 at 3:22 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOh God. I like this, I really do. I'm awed by the size and the sleekness of the black model, but Apple, please give us some variety in our iPods. I want the funky multi-coloured iPod minis back. The Nano doesn't look like something you can jive to - it's more like a chic ornament in an ultra-modern home.
September 07 2005 at 9:51 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Reply"The only thing I do not like about it is the headphone jack on the bottom. I think that is stupid. It could have easily been put on the top." Sorry, should have included this reply in the previous comment. From talking to the Apple people today, the impression I got was that (a) it was more efficient to put all the audio output circuitry (the dock connector port and heapdhone jack) in the same place; and (b) given how thin the nano is, it would have been difficult to squeeze a headphone jack behind the screen. I also initially thought it was weird to have the headphone jack on the bottom; however, after playing wit a nano most of the day, I've decided that I'm not so much bothered by the headphone jack being on the bottom as I am by the fact that the headphone jack and hold switch are at opposite ends ;-)
September 07 2005 at 9:37 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyDamn. I just got my iPOD mini just a few months ago. Now it's already obsolete? This is BS. They should've kept the mini and upgraded it by giving it more memory and a color screen. I don't think too many people are going to want a downgrade in size and in memory especially those who had the 6 GB and have to pay the same price or higher.
