iPod nano
Goodbye, iPod mini. Hello, iPod nano. It comes in 2GB and 4GB flavors, both with color screens, and priced at $199 and $249 respectively.
Even better, it comes in both white and black. Nice! I want one.

hey, iTunes just went 5.0 - sadly, C.K's predictions in one of the TUAW Podcasts about a major overhaul / UI adjustments have not been delivered. I can't believe this iPod "nano" (that's a ridiculous name right?) is not the Shuffle replacement... pfff, iTunes phone look dull - i hate silver. Damn it I'll stick with my moded p800...

I just hope they release the standard iPod in black. I've been wanting to upgrade from my 15 gig 3rd gen anyway.

Um..... $250 for 2 GB LESS?
Doesn't that suck?
Bad move, apple. Bad move.
Oh well, people will buy it because it looks sweet. Remember the days of utilitarianism?

Wow, this is slick. I expected it to be smaller than the mini, but didn't expect it to be this tiny.
Someone tell Hitachi that this is the new "Bling" and not their tiny hd's. :)

Can I upgrade my 1GB Shuffle to Nano with special discount?

Dude, they discontinued the mini for this? WTF?!? While I like the color screen and semi like the overall design, the gave up 6gigs of storage for 4gigs and 5 colors for 2. Who's been handing out the "goofy pills" at Apple? This and the ITMS phone? I think I'll cry!

iPod nano: All I can say is very CHIC! (except the name... but then again.... what could they have chosen otherwise?)
Oh, and finally folders for playlist organization in iTunes... my list of playlists was getting too long and chaotic... :)

does anyone know if the iPod nano will work with firewire. The apple site just says it used USB, but considering it has a standard dock connector I would imagine the firewire cables will fit. But then wouldn't apple make that clear..
I've just bought a rev.A 867mhz 12" powerbook, which only has USB 1.1. I would seriously love to buy one these new iPods, but only if I can use it with Firewire.
otherwise i'm just gonna look for a discounted mini. 2gb more for the same price (potentially less with a discount), and I get to choose a colour as well!!

the nano, name and all, was predicted two days ago on the following website, http://www.drunkreport.com/
i sent the article as a tip to TUAW but it never made it up. i guess the website's name might lend itself to some credibility issues (probably rightly so)

uhmmmmmm... so what?
i mean, they'll probably sell tons of new units, as usual, but i don't see anyone ditching their ipods to buy this...
one thing is for sure, this IS NOT revolutionary in any way... to me it looks a lot more like flogging a dead horse...

So where is the Samsung 15gb memory chip? I think I'll wait.

And the nano should be a lot smaller than the flea, not?
For me they could've just recycled iPod mini.
Compromises, compromises.iPod size vs storage capacity. One just can't win right now. They can't put the the mini's storage in the these yet nor would it be affordable.

Has anyone seen whether it will sync using the camera connector? It has the same dock port and software (i think) but I haven't seen anything definitive on it.
Will it work with Flash?
