Hack the iPod nano

MAKE has a great little hack up to mod the iPod nano: "...you can do a few things like change the text strings, mod the font -and- even change the graphics (sorta). Here's HOW TO mod a pod, a work in progress for the iPod nano...."

I like the font hack, as I'd really like to have a larger font in the Notes function of the iPod nano, so I think I'll give this hack a shot and report the results back here later. If it ends up working very nicely, I'll even offer to hack the winner of our contest's iPod nano.

Erm, I'm embarrassed here, so CK, please scratch my last post! (I haven't confirmed it yet, so only you and the other TUAW'ers will know how much of an idiot I really am) Anyway, I make alterPod, which is mentioned in the How-To article. If anyone has an iPod nano, and is willing to get down and dirty with me via email or iChat, we can sort out the problem with the graphics looking nasty, and myelsf and the other podites will be eternally grateful.

I wonder if it's possible to migrate the appropriate firmware components for the Camera Connector from the iPod photo to the nano using the tools mentioned in this article... Anyone experienced enough with iPod mods to know? Or to even create an AppleScript to do so? :-)
