TUAW Podcast, the Fifth
Subtitle: ...the nano cast.We gathered together this weekend to slap together our newest monthly podcast for you, and with all the new people on the blog, we ended up with enough audio for about 2-3 separate podcasts. Rather than throw all that great TUAW audio on the cutting-room floor, we decided to give you separate podcasts. The first is a just under 25 minute chat between David Chartier and myself about our brand new iPod nanos (Thanks to David for the pic accompanying this post).
We'll release the next podcast a week from today, and it will be a roundtable discussion on the state of .Mac, featuring David Chartier, Dave Caolo, Victor Agreda, Jr., and me. Then the week after that we might have another sort of catch all "State of Mac" discussion where we discuss all the odds and ends going on with Apple and Tiger and the technologies that we all love.
In any case, grab our nano-cast and sit back and enjoy.
Here's a direct link to the 9MB mp3 file.

The TUAW podcasts don't seem to be available through my TUAW subscription in iTunes.

For some reason, iTunes doesn't like our feed. You should be able to subscribe to us through: http://www.tuaw.com/rss.xml

The file that you linked to seems to only contain about half of the podcast. It cuts one of you off in the middle of a sentence.

Brian, I just tested it and it loads fine for me. You have to let it fully load before saving it, either that or right click on the file and save.

I was just thinking about this today. First, let me say that I'm still the proud owner of a 20GB 4gen grey-screen iPod. I, like sooooooooooo many others, drooled over the Nano when SJ pulled it out of his pocket. Here's my only beef about it though: When I consider that I'm used to, and had no problems with, a hard-drive iPod and I've been considering getting a 20GB color upgrade, why would I consider getting the 4GB Nano? Comparison: For $50 less, I'm getting a faster flash memory (good), a few added features (kinda good), 16 GB LESS memory (bad), and no video out (bad... also a smaller screen). I understand that this a WAY worthy upgrade for the iPod Mini owners, but for iPod owners like me that want a value... the Nano looks good but... I just don't know if I want to make the sacrifice. Please don't hate me; I'm just playing devil's advocate here. I'm also one of 107 others who entered the contest in hopes of being worthy enough to win one, since it'd be a most awesome backup iPod anyways! Please tell me your thoughts, fellow readers. Give me a good reason to shell out $$$$ for Nano bliss....

iTunes (5.0) says no playable episodes, so I'll go the manual route. For now.
