Keyboard shortcuts. Lot's of 'em. Even stuff from Classic like option-dragging the control strip to move it... All neatly compiled by Dave Polaschek.I still have to tell people to use Ctrl-S on Windows to save. And every time I do I'm reminded of Kahn shouting that shortcut to a roomful of copy center PC users. My wife likes to learn as she goes. When she needs something done quicker, she'll ask me if there's a keyboard shortcut. I tried teaching her sevearl at once, she just got aggravated. So it's nice to see this gargantuan list in one place for our amusement. And as Einstein said, and I'm paraphrasing here, "why should I memorize something I can so easily get from a blog?"
And if you want to give your PC-lovin' friends a gift, tell them about the Ctrl-Enter thing in IE. They will thank you.

Ctrl+S does NOT work on all programs and on all versions of Windows (for some arcane reason, in the Italian version of M$ programs it's ctrl+shift+f12 to save and - ugh - ctrl+KEYPAD 5 to Select All. Gh).
No problem like this on the Mac.

What does control-enter do in IE? I just tried it here on my work computer and saw no results. Now I'm annoyed that you guys made me launch IE!

Ctrl-Enter automatically appends the "www." and ".com" to a URL. For example, type "google" into the address bar and then hit Ctrl-Enter to be taken to "www.google.com".
This trick also works in Firefox, which has shortcuts for ".net" and ".org" as well:
.com -> Ctrl-Enter
.net -> Shift-Enter
.org -> Ctrl-Shift-Enter
Oh, and any IE user is not a friend of mine ;)

Oh. Wow. Um...useful...if you're super lazy, I guess. Personally, I never found it terribly inconvenient to type the www and com/org/net/whatever. Nice to know, though. Thanks!

One decent system is to include the shortcut key in the tooltips (little yellow box that pops up when you hover over a control, sometimes) or menu. Some programs have this, others don't. But it seems like a reasonable way to learn shortcuts once you know to look out for them.

ctrl-enter, crtl-shift-enter and shift-enter are the three things I miss the most after switching to my mac. Does anyone know how to do them on FF for OSX? even crtl enter? I can't seem to figure it out.
