How to give your nano 200 GB of storage
Aka, "how to void your warranty and demolish your iPod for a few chuckles." Some enterprising young fellow has figured out how to take a 200 GB IDE drive and jack it in to the nano. Sure, the battery only lasts 6 seconds, but you've got a million songs in your winter coat pocket! Naturally, it's a little vague on the "how to attach an ATA interface to your nano," perhaps because that's like, so not possible... To my eyes, those red wires look like a certain brush in Painter...But it's fun to look at. Next time your Mac-hating friends complain about the iPod (or Mac) being a closed system, no fun to hack, etc., point them to this crazy thing. Don't feel too guilty when they ruin a perfectly good nano trying to solder wires onto it's labyrinthine SMT board though.

The battery life problem is easily resolved by strapping a car battery to the unit. Further enhancements include attaching a handle and wheels to enhance portability.

All fake!!! They started off by opening a black iPod nano, then they showed a white one as their finished product. That leads me to believe it is a definate fake. And as you said, the wires look like they were painted on in Painter.
Good laugh though. :)

Note that the pictures are all from the arstechnica autopsy.

We can't find a cure for cancer, but we can find a way to connect a 200 GIG drive to a iPod Nano:)
File this under "too much time on somebody's hands".

with needless ic ground jumpers tied to circuit grounds... no added mass to component connections... and lack of solder for joined wires (just red blobs)...
I would stake my entire electronics engineering experience betting that is a a fake.
The best way to prove this is a fake: where the wires are soldered to the top card... there are 25 long copper pads that have 15 wires attached. Never in my experience have I soldered to those pads without solder spreading at least halfway up. In this picture, there appears to be no solder at all.

Not only is it using the autopsy images, it's using the same image of the nano from Apple's website with the same song, with the same art work, on the same time playing.
fat boy slim. really bad, i knew it was fake straight away because of that.
