DLO announces redesigned TransPod

dlo transpodThe DLO TransPod was already a great product, but DLO has managed to improve it. The new TransPod features a new design that better compliments the iPod, intelligent power management, an adjustable backlit display, programmable station preset stations and more. It comes in white, silver and black to better match your iPod or car interior colors. It'll set you back $99.99, but here's what you get for that:
  • Play, charge and cradle your iPod or iPod mini with one device
  • Crystal clear sound plays through any empty FM frequency from 87.9 to 107.9
  • No install necessary - just plug and play
  • Charge while cradling
  • 4 Preset Stations let you jump to commonly used frequencies
  • iPod Line Out for use with an Auto Auxiliary Input or Cassette Adapter
Pretty good value, right? There's also the DLO TransPod for iPod shuffle for $59.99, which I'll be reviewing soon, for your reading pleasure. Stay tuned!

I have one of the earlier DLO offerings and it works GREAT (i have a 4G pre-color ipod). My in-laws have a belkin that sucks and also sucks batteries! This is great for the car. Only drawback is that it is ONLY for the car. Where my in-laws use their crappy thing to transmit to a portable bose stereo (pre-ipod model), I can only do that if my car is running and the bose is only 10' away... But in the car is is great! charges the ipod, broadcasts well, and is very low key. very nice.

Definitely not the best timing.

This looks great. Have any of you tried them out yet? I've not heard good things about the FM transmitter approach in general, especially in the city (lots of radio stations). It's good that it has an alternative line out. What do you all think?
