Where the heck is last night's Lost?
Bad form, Steve. Yesterday, at the Special Event, you announced that last night's episode of Lost would be available for download today. It's 1:30 pm EST. Where the heck is it? Did you lose it?I mean it's great that we can download television now, but this is the Internets, baby! It's already up on bittorrent. Where's my iTMS copy, already?
Update: It's up now. Looks like it popped up around 4PM EST. Good, but, unfortunately, this appeared light-years behind the bittorrent copy. If Apple and the networks want this to fly, they are going to have to shorten the gap between broadcast and iTMS availability.

So is Lost only available on the US iTunes? I don't see it anywhere in the UK store... I see music videos and the Pixar things, but no TV episodes.

All it takes is getting the people that need it the tape on Wednesday instead of Thursday." Who exactly are these "people that need it"? If you "need" a TV show right this second and are going to pout if you don't get it, you need to get out more. They said it would be up the following day. It's been up for a few hours now. This level of critique is seriously ridiculous. All I was saying is to give it more than 24 hours to perform flawlessly at your whim. They're undertaking something new here and there are going to be some bumps in the road. In regards to the "don't need to be screwed around with", it's not all about you, so don't take it so personally man.

Please try to keep in mind that this is a brand new service never tried before, and there are bound to be a few things that need to be ironed out. People bitching doom and gloom because the day after it opened they can't have it now, NOW!!!, are just overreacting like spoiled little kids." It's easy to say that, but we're still consumers. We don't need to be screwed around with on this. They have to offer a distinct advantage to encourage consumers to use the service. All it takes is getting the people that need it the tape on Wednesday instead of Thursday.

"Yep, just another reason why I don't think this is going to catch on that much. They have to release this stuff right at 9PM, otherwise the advantage of availability is gone."
What do you mean the content must be released right at 9pm? This isn't meant as a replacement for watching "Lost" or anything else on TV - it's intended to be complimentary. For example, I was out last night and didn't make it home until 9:20. I caught most of what happened during the episode, but I will be downloading it from iTunes later to see what I missed. I doubt I will download every episode, but this will allow me to be more flexible in where I am at 9pm Wednesday nights. This alleviates the strain of missing an episode and being totally lost (no pun intended), which happened to me last season. I missed 2 or 3 episodes because of work, and just gave up and waited (forever) until the DVD set came out to watch "Lost". Now I don't have to do that.
