iTrip nano
Do you love your little nano so much that you imagine it to be a little spaceman in need of a rocket-powered backpack? If so, and you happen to be looking for a nice FM transmitter for your nano, you'll probably be overjoyed to hear that Griffin has just announced the new iTrip nano.Touting the device as "the most advanced iTrip ever," Griffin has made a small and stylish little backpack for the nano complete with on-the-screen tuning (like it actually uses the nano's screen without having to load a bunch of short beeping MP3s on your 'Pod), the ability to store the last 3 station presets, and the ability to charge and sync the nano while the iTrip nano is still connected.
The iTrip nano will be shipping in November at an introductory price of $49.99, and they are taking preorders now.

I can't wait for that to come out! The current FM transmitter I'm stuck using dangles on a cord and is bigger than the nano itself!

...and it won't be available in the UK, as the authorities will think you are a radio station... therefore have banned them!
I know I can buy one if I really want to.

So, you guys get all mad when C.K. reports late, and ALSO when he reports early? Give me a break. This news isn't anywhere else. Good job.
The thing looks nice, and I'm glad they found a solution to the awkwardly thin nano... however they better put padding on it so as to not scratch it up.

Looks great! I just wish they'd come out with a black one for the new video iPods, and I really like this on screen tuning idea.

I was wondering how Griffin would approach an iTrip nano. I never expected this, but it's definitely nice. Plus it'll add some weight to the nano because sometimes it feels too light.

I am further curious how that "on screen tuning" works -- this implies that there is some sort of way for a device attached or cabled to the ipod to take input from the ipod buttons and output to the screen, at least in a limited sense. This has some interesting implications beyond this simple FM modulator I would think.
Is this interface documented anywhere?
