MacTV posts original iPod promo video

Today, MacTV has posted the original iPod promotional video. It was fun to watch, and amazing to think that it's been only four years (practically to the day - Oct. 23, 2001) since the iPod was originally introduced. My two favorite moments from the video were Apple's Senior VP of Hardware Engineering, Jon Rubenstein, touting the "...super-thin, 5GB hard drive," and Jonathan Ive saying, "Our goal was to design...something that could become an icon."

Mission accomplished.

Actually it's still available directly on Apple's site. http://www.apple.com/hardware/video/ipod_intro_320.html You can actually get it in the 5th Gens resolution! I put it on a few friend's 5th gens just for kicks.

Does it seem like Rubenstein's voice is dubbed over when he talks about battery life? I'm pretty sure his lips say eight and his voice says ten.

I remember seeing that video and going, "Wow, I must have one." I still have mine. It's ultra durable. All scratched now though. I need to upgrade... The battery is starting to suck.

what fun! that was a totally flashback to High School when it was released. I remember walking around the hallways thinking about how revolutionary it was. hahaha...

I actually remember ordering mine sometime in November, and trying to time the delivery to coincide with my traveling schedule at the time... I still have that one, with the hard lucite edges...
