5G iPod treats Podcasts like iTunes
TUAW reader Jeff wrote in with this little tidbit: "I haven't seen any mention of the addition of the feature on the 5g ipod that puts the little blue dots next to the podcasts you have yet to listen to just like itunes does. On my 4g it just listed the podcasts like any other tune." Gad zooks! I didn't notice this change on either my iPod nano (which does the same thing; thanks for verifying, Laurie!) or on the new iPod, simply because it made such sense that I thought the feature had been there on the 4G. Coolness.
Good catch, Jeff. Thanks!

It also does a nice "scroll thing" with podcast (and episode) titles that are too long for the screen to show in one chunk. Does the nano do this too (I'm upgrading from a 3G iPod, so this is all great stuff from my perspective)?
October 27 2005 at 11:23 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI've had my (4G B/W) iPod for over a year now and have used every function of from the Smart to On The Go Playlists but have NO IDEA what the purpose of the Compilation setting is. Can someone please explain this? I have a feeling that I could get a LOT of use out of it, if I could figure out what the hell it does!!

October 27 2005 at 2:13 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyNo one has mentioned the Compilation setting in the 5G either. This is huge for me because I have a 60 giger and maybe 20 different of Blues compilation discs to mention a few. Just with those blues, that's 20 discs x 15 artists for... a ton of artists in that dang list.
