Agent Software Releases Precision Recall
Remember all the buzz about Google Desktop, the application that applied Google's searching technology to your personal computer and desktop? But it's Windows-only and only just recently are there rumblings about Google looking for Mac developers, presumably to write applications like a Mac version of Google Desktop. Apple released Spotlight with Tiger which is kind of like Google's Desktop, except that it isn't.Enter Agent Software's Precision Recall, an application that aims to improve the way we search for and use the files stored on our computers. Beyond just searching for data on your computer, it also allows you to annotate your findings, mark them up for follow-up, and even share them with other users. I can see this being very useful in searching my workplace's large and Byzantine Intranet.
Precision Recall is built to extend the power of Spotlight and integrates easily with other search technologies like Google's online search. Precision Recall costs $99 per seat for businesses but only $39 for educational customers. There's a 30-day demo available for download. Give it a try.
