Holding the Command key (aka the Apple key) and pressing Tab will cycle through your open applications. It's easier to Cmd-Tab if you are Copy (Cmd-C) and Pasting (Cmd-V) to and from various applications.

Purchased QT Pro last week for converting video's to my new iPod. It took HOURS to convert 3 music video's to iPod format on my 1 gig 12" Powerbook. Then, the video's transferred vithout sound!
I am trying Movie To Go now. Will also try the Script posted above.
Thanks.

OK, I need some help here..... As I stated before QT PRO changes to iPod format but drop's the sound. The same thing happens with the Script posted above and Movie To Go. The files show up in iTunes fine but the sound is absent with all three programs. Any suggestions????
I am using short music video's that play fine in QuickTime.

Joel, are the original file formats .mov? if so, the reason your sound is dropping out is because the files are muxed. You must demux the files (split the audio and video) prior to conversion. Its a longish process but it should work.

No, The files are .mpg When I export them in QuickTime Pro, "No audio track in source movie" appears in the audio tab. I tried to export both mp4 or m4v with no luck. The only video or movie I have on the iPod that plays sound is a video I purchased on iTunes.
The movies play fine in Quicktime on the computer.
Any more suggestions?

Just found this message board from a search about converting video for ipod withOUT quicktime pro. I just got a 30gig ipod video as a gift and wanted to know if there were any FREE programs to convert videos to an ipod suitable format for the PC too. The script is only for mac right? any help would be appreciated. I also have adobe premiere so i was wondering if it would work to convert

Wow, cool tip. I have quicktime pro at home, but we have about 10 iMacs at work I can use this with.

This is GREAT! I know Apple is pushing the new iPod as "an iPod that just happens to play some video," rather than "OMG TEH Video iPod!!!!!11" but still, they would do a lot* to help its popularity if they made it REALLY EFFING EASY to put VIDEOS on the damn thing. The free version of quicktime REALLY needs a "save for iPod" menu item, just like Photoshop's "save for web" option.
As CK learned making his video podcast (vodcast?) the other day ( http://www.tuaw.com/2005/10/23/tuaw-video-podcast-ipod-edition/ ) you can get smaller video by NOT optimizing for iPod, so it's not like "iPod video" is going to become synonymous with "stolen video" on the web. They can stop short of making ripping DVDs as easy as ripping CDs, but they should at least give us the ability to convert anything QuickTime handles into something that can be taken with us. Limit it to 320x240, I don't care, just make it EASY.
Or, they could just give out free copies of QT Pro with each iPod video, but I doubt that will happen.
* OK, the iPod is hugely popular on its own, so maybe this wouldn't help a LOT, but I'm sure it would help SOME, at least.

Movie to Go is a great stand-alone app. Got it yesterday. TWO DAYS after I sprung $30 for QuickTime Pro, just so I could encode movies to the iPod. I KNEW I should've waited!
