iSquint, so you don't have to
iSquint wins my award for best new application name and icon. However, fictitious awards aside, iSquint is another little utility that has cropped up to let people convert video to iPod friendly formats. It seems straight forward, and it even has an option to optimize the video for playback on your TV, which is nice. All of this, and a great price to boot (it is free at the moment). What more could you ask for?
Boy, if you ask me this idea of videos on iPods is really going to take off. You read it here last.

iSquint sounds cool...but where is the reviews on your new iMac you promised us "later tonight" yesterday? My new iMac is sitting at home in its box and I could use some reactions to frontRow and the new iMac overall to give enough of a fix to get some work done today.

is it just me, or is the iSquint site not very Firefox friendly?

Mike, I have been a little busier than I thought I would be, but that is on my list 'to write' tonight.
Short version: the new iMac is sweet, Front Row has some flaws, and Photo Booth is fun.

Does this program have a solution to the problems loading H.264 encoded vids onto an iPod? I guess there's only one way to find out...

What a great app! Did exactly what I need it to in a fraction of the time and it was easy to use! Keeps getting better with each revision! Thanks!

No H.264 support yet, but then again, no one using ffmpeg has gotten that to work apart from the Handbrake hackers. I don't know why the delay, since it only requires that the "Baseline" setting be enabled.

I can't get it to work. It instantly comes up as "Done. Checking to see if it worked..." and there is nothing in the folder I told it to go to. What am I doing wrong? this sounds like agreat little program!

Works good for me. The only thing I can't find a fix for is these torrent downloads that have a crappy 131 (or some odd number) VBR audio to them. When I go to encode mpeg4, it's off sync. I've tried everything.
Anyways, with this app, it shows 100% on the progress bar, but it's never done until it pops up a window saying it's done. :)
