Confirmed: New Apple Store in Canada
Heads up,
Canadians. It looks like Eaton Center in Toronto has a new Apple Store in its future. The retail page on Apple's
Canadian site is currently listing job postings for Easton Center. If you're in the area, keep your eyes peeled for any
developments, and let us know what you find. Thanks, Scott!

Seriously. Two for Toronto, two for all of Canada, and therefore none in Vancouver. Or Montreal, for that matter. But Vancouver could really benefit from a true Apple store. There is a large population of students there, a great number of them who use Macs or other Apple products, and having the official retailer there would be of great benefit to many of them. There's got to be some real estate downtown or on Broadway or even in Richmond for a Vancouver store.
Are you listening Apple? You've got Apple stores in Italy, Japan, and England. You've got them in every town big or small in the United States. Give another Canadian city besides Toronto a chance.

No firm confirmation whether it will be in the Eaton Centre or in a new development currently under construction right beside the Eaton Centre.

I think that they are creating another in Eaton center because the area around yorkdale is not exactly residential, or atleast not as residential as around eaton center. Also, the Yorkdale store is ALWAYS so packed it's scary. I went there on a Sunday and had to wait 2 and a half hours for a Mac Genius appointment.

The first one (Yorkdale -- NW Toronto) was always crammed to the gills. Placing one in the Eaton Centre, in the heart of Toronto shopping, might be asking for continuous pandemonium.

As an Apple Reseller in Toronto, this new store has been known for many months. However, the news was always attached to a rumour that the new store wouldn't be the second, but rather, would be the result of the current store relocating. It always seemed a dumb idea to me, but that's the rumour as we resellers have been told for a good few months now.

I go to school right beside the Eaton Centre and go in there almost daily. There aren't any signs of an apple store inside the eaton centre BUT there is a large new mall going up right across the street from it in young and dundas square. Judging by the picture on the construction site it'll contain an AMC 24 movie theatre, virgin records store....my gut says it'll go in there. :) i'd be pumped that means we'd have an on campus apple store :):):):)

As a former Apple Reseller in Toronto, I expect Apple will do quite well in this location. Hopefully well enough to put a few of the the local Mac businesses out of business. Greedy dishonest pricks.

Maybe Apple could think of Quebec before opening a second store in Toronto? We don't even have a single official Apple Service Center in the province since B.Mac went bankrupt... In fact, I don't think we even have a single Mac dedicated store in town!!! (3.5 millions people in the greater area).
HELLO APPLE????
I wanna buy mac stuff and get it fixed and it's not at FutureShop I'm gonna get any kinda of "Mac like" service.
