Not happy with the iSkin eVo3

Steve at The Sneeze waited weeks for his back ordered iSkin eVo3 iPod case to arrive. Now that he has it, he's not too thrilled. From his blog:

"If I was featured in an iPod commercial, instead of dancing with joy you'd see my silhouette just sort of moping around against an orange background, fiddling with the hold switch and wishing I had my forty bucks back."

The post is actually pretty funny, but if his main complaint is the lack of access to the hold button (sharp steak knife, anyone?), it may not be so bad. Still, I'd like to see his sad iPod commercial.

I bought the eVo3 Black iskin back on January 17 2006. I felt that it was a magnet for lint and if you have to put the plastic screen into the skin I always got finger prints all over the inside of the glass. Their web site says I can send it back for a full refund. I sent it back less than a week after I got it. It's now March 14 2006 and I still havent gotten my money back from them. I have called and emailed them. They keep saying they are very behind on there return process and they have thousands of inquiries that they have yet to process. below is an email I got from them after my 4th inquiry. I would advise everyone hear to think twice before giving them your money.

Hello

I received your phone message. I have made a specific request to accounts to
have your order refunded in full. The refund/exchange department is pretty
backed up now since there are thousands of inquiries to process but I have
made a request and it should go through within 24-48 hours.

Hey, all - need a little help here if you've got a minute.

I just got a 5g 30g vpod. Paranoid about scratches, I've got a shield on it plus a spanky new iskin. Problem is, my Griffin Roadtrip just laughs at me when I try to plug it in to go for a drive. None of Roadtrip's cradles are big enough to squeeze my pod, plus skin, in. I've got it jimmied, sans cradle, with an industrial-strength rubber band, but that's no way to treat a pod. Anyone have the same problem or got ideas for a solution?

Anyone of you know Podfunk makes any 5G cases? I bought their nano case. I liked it, it is super thin and very easy to operate my nano.

I really do not like the new iskin video on the older 4th Gen they were so much better. For some crazy reason they changed something that didnt need to be fixed. The hard plastic on the front of the iskin look terrible. Ive got an amazing case which must be one of the thinest apart from the film protectors you can get.

The dust issue definitely sucks. At the least the skins are washable. I personally don't care about the dust. I'm just glad it protects my iPod.

He's also complaining about not knowing what position the hold switch is on...just look on the damn screen...

I ordered this case and have had it for quite some time now. I am not experiencing the dust collection issue as much as the other people. I keep it in my coat pocket and it still looks new. The cover on the hold button is a little annoying at first but you do get used to it. Also, it makes your brand new thin ipod a little bulkier. However, overall I think it does an outstanding job in protecting your ipod. I recommend this case if you want full protection.

I second that for the invisible shield.

It is simply the best thing if you want to protect and use it, and also have "invisible" protection.

I got the evo3 for christmas (well, quite a while after, but i don't care) and i love it. and why is this guy complaining about the hold switch? you don't need to use it with this case at all. i did figure out a good way of using the hold switch (puch the silicone in the opposite direction to the way it's meant to go) but i don't bother anymore. this case stops just about anything from touching the click wheel, so i just leave it in my pocket with the buttons facing out, and control it theought my pocket.
