Rosetta compatibility list

To supplement creativebits' list of what you cannot run on a Mactel, the Mac Internets now has a Rosetta Compatibility list courtesy of Macintouch.

Does anyone else find it completely laughable that the company with the most incompatible programs under its name is Apple?

Of course, at this point, the list isn't too exhaustive, so some other company could edge Apple out of that spot, but still... why the delay? Are they waiting for the pro machines before they release the pro apps in Universal Binary?

They say Elgato EyeTV software is incompatible, but I can run it fine on my iMac Core Duo.

I have version 2 though - maybe they mean version 1. Has anyone else had problems/success with EyeTV on their intel Macs?

Not exhaustive? The list is freakin' TINY! There's hardly anything on there!! Not even one single game!

I'd bet every penny I've got that Priority Numero Uno for Rosetta added up to MS Office. Everything else was just icing.

Look for the Pro apps to appear in April at NAB. That is where they have announced changes in the past. I suspect their big money clients are already hounding the sales reps about support for existing systems and integration of new pro towers. I suspect there is a big movie being edited on a new Intel box right now with the new Final Cut Suite. That is the kind of stuff they like to yap about at NAB.

Perhaps their Pro apps are making the most use of Altivec and processor-specific features, and will have to be significantly tuned for Intel's SSE3?

Just a thought.

No, I don't find it laughable at all.

Apple came clean the day of the launch that their pro apps would not run under Rosetta, and said when the Universal Binaries would go out, and how much it would cost.

I don't think 30-60 days after launch is unreasonable.

Now Adobe, on the other hand...
