Unreal Tournament 2004 goes universal

Ryan Gordon, who converted Unreal Tournament 2004, has written the universal update for UT 04 that you can download here (it's a 199MB bitrottent file). According to MacSoft general manager Al Schilling, UT 04 is twice as fast on an Intel Mac that it was on its older G5 siblings.

Now go get it. w00t!

Update: Post edited for accuracy. I don't play Unreal in any of its incarnations, so forgive my ignorance.

The Intel version rocks by the way. I was able to play with full res, full detail and be very satisfied with the frame rate. The only problem was, loading levels seemed to take longer (but then, I only had 512 mb at the time).

What about an Intel demo? I'd like to see how it runs.

Uh, you're missing a bunch of spaces in there, (whoconverted, MacSoftgeneral) and the word "bittorrent" is spelled wrong. Aren't you using MacOS's built in Spell checker in SafarI? Tsk tsk...

I'm still waiting for the final X-ified version of Unreal Tournament! Alas, my Dual-1GHz MDD, ATi 9000 isn't going to be running UT2004. Now, if I had an intel iMac with this Universal Binary...

the correct wording is: "Unreal Tournament 2004 was ported to the Mac," not: "converted Unreal Tournament for the Mac in 2004." And, I think you'd be better off saying that Unreal 2004 is now available as a Universal Binary, not that the update has been written.

um, yeah, just my $0.02.

Note that this is Unreal Tournament *2004*, not the original Unreal Tournament, like you would expect from the post. Too bad, Unreal Tournament is a really cool game.
