Doom 3 Goes Universal

Aspyr Media has updated Doom to version 3.1.3A, which provides a Universal Binary for those running a new Intel Mac. It also provides better performance for PPC Macs with ATI video cards.

Doom 3 is the third major game to be released as a Universal Binary in the last few weeks, following Unreal Tournament 2004 and World of Warcraft.

@ kinkadius: I suspect you would be able to use the PC version... but you'll have to get hold of the Doom 3 binary (for the Mac) somehow... the textures etc. remain the same on the PC and Mac version.

i have this for the pc, but i'd really rather not go out and purchase this again for the mac, is there a way i can just use the universal binary and use the media from the pc copy i own?

lemme get this straight:

universal runs on intel AND powerpc.

does that mean it will run BETTER on intel than powerpc?

if software for the mac is released from here forward in universal, will it also run theoretically just as well on powerpc?

help me, i'm goofy.
