Apple Store Montreal?
Here's the latest
hint of a future Apple Store. Over at this
job search page there's a listing for a Mac Genius in Montreal. Specific job requirements include:- Provides front line customer support at the Genius Bar, including hardware and software troubleshooting & diagnosis and basic customer product training
- Repairs Apple hardware and software products
- Manages all aspects of repair work flow including open repairs prioritization, case management and service part order management

It says "Carrefour Laval" so it will actually be in Laval, a suburb at the North of Montreal... that doesn't make sense to me.

Unfortunately, Carefour Laval does make sense. It is the largest and most expensive shopping mall around. It has the most expensive stores (for a mall) and most traffic.
For those who don't know, Laval is the island next to the island of Montreal. Laval is mainly residential.
Carefour Laval is about a 20 minute drive from downtown Montreal.
There goes my savings as well :-(. I am so happy the store is coming but at the same time not looking forward to it. I will be there on day 1 taking pictures.

Woo Hooo ... finally !!! There goes my savings too. Would have liked to see a store at the Fairview shopping center in Pointe-Claire as I live about 5 minutes from there, but really ... I'm not complaining !!
I did hear though that the Fairview shopping center has the most sales per capita ... ( at one point anyways ). Mabey Apple decided against Fairview due to the fact that there are too many resellers in close proximity (Best Buy, CompuSmart) ...
Regardless, I'm a happy Montrealer !!!!

Carrefour is the biggest but not the most expensive "mall" in Quebec.
That being said, I'm sure Apple is looking for a store in the downtown area on st-Catherine st. But anyone living here will know that its easier said than done with the serious lack of quality space in that area.

It's true that Carrefour Laval is an expensive mall, but it also could have been around the Cours Mont-Royal or the Ogilvy on Ste-Catherine. There's a lot of luxury stuff there too. But what the heck, I'm just going to take the bus and go in Laval!
