Another picture of the 'video iPod' from MacShrine

MacShrine has posted another image of the supposed new video iPod that Steve will be announcing on Tuesday.
I'm not buying it though, mostly because if you had the time to place it on the floor and take a picture of it, you would also have had enough time to turn it on and give us a taste of the UI.
We'll see if I am wrong on Tuesday.

i think it could be real, after i got my first 3rd gen ipod in 2002 i thought that the next ipod will have a touch screen with videos and photoes, but it took apple a bit longer to make my dream come true. about 4 years now i have the new ipod 5gen and it is asome! and the main thing it needs a bigger screen so it will blow off the portable psp, and therefore it wil probebly have a bigger screen than any portable 60GB?+? media player. then apple will get some $$$$.
also it could be real because everyone is complaning about the 3 hour battery life for vids, and a small screen. but if this ipod is real then there is nothing to complain about(exept the scraching) i think this is 200GB+ and sertanly more battery life. since apple sold 14million ipods in the 2005 christmas hollidays they have enough money to produce an ipod that will rock the world??
maybe im wrong.
well see tomorrow,
Wouldn't the easiest way to prove any of these product shots would be to show the back with the model and serial numbers?
C'mon fakers, let's get some effort out here!
Here's a genuine picture of the 6th Gen iPod

I've got a floor like that. This ipod is at least 18x36 cm. Maybe it comes on wheels.

about himself making this fake with his 5G ipod ? He even shows the real pictures he played with,...
you guys are incredulous, who knows if the french guy is telling the truth?
February 25 2006 at 2:31 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOh, boy... I enjoy looking at fun product mockup ideas as much as the next person, but there are some people out there who are simply gullible beyond belief.
Example: this image is not only fake, the guy who did it admits that it's fake... and still, people insist that it must be real. Over and over, on site after site, people believe whatever they're told.
Actually, in microcosm, this explains a lot about our country these days!
I think its too early for apple to release a new iPod. The G5 is not that old. Changing the form factor again I think would be damaging for iPod sales given the totally changed the G5 form factor. I think the tablet idea is more likely. But we shall see shortly.
February 24 2006 at 9:21 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyFor future reference, here's a pretty good technique for detecting photoshopping. It took me about 15 seconds. See the picture I uploaded to flickr:

Here you can see the "ipod" photo with its levels (contrast, exposure, saturation, etc) adjusted via iphoto. This is a technique I read about which editors at Science magazine are now using to detect fraud. The adjusted photo clearly seems to show along the bottom edge of the "screen" evidence of photoshopping. Next time one of these fakes appears (tomorrow?), try this method.
