Yojimbo updated to 1.1

We're a little late on this one, but Yojimbo, a very functional yet simple information collection tool, has been updated to version 1.1. Among the decent list of additions, changes and bugfixes are new features like:
  • opening a bookmark in a preferred browser (not necessarily the default)
  • applescript-ability
  • search field improvements including toolbar statistics like iTunes and Mail
  • improvements to dragging items to the collections list
  • removing backgrounds when printing web archives
  • .Mac syncing no longer requires Yojimbo to be running
I started finding all sorts of great uses for Yojimbo and actually decided to buy it last night, so I highly recommend checking it out if you've been looking for a better way to get organized.

If you're dependent on Spotlight, unfortunately Devonthink is not there yet. Yojimbo doesn't look there yet either, but with CoreData/SQLite/Spotlight support, it's a little more practical then finding disparate associations through AI algorithms. I want to like Yojimbo, but they aren't catering to the power user (yet, i hope).

I am curious as to how Yojimbo differs from Devonthink -- looks to me like pretty much same kinda thing (at exactly same price - $39 for Yojimbo vs $40 for Devonthink Personal), but Yojimbo lacks Devonthink's AI features. Anyone have any thoughts on which is better as a repository for random stuff?

I have tried Yojimbo as well as a few others, but was curious to know your (or others) thoughts on it. While there are things about Yojimbo that I like, it lacks a hierarchal system for document seperation. This is important for the functions that I want as it allows me to drill down on a subject matter (code snippets for example). Currently I use Caboodle, a nice piece of donation-ware.

Yojimbo looks a lot like the Finder to me
