Apple introduces Boot Camp

In a bold move today, Apple has released a public beta of Boot Camp, a piece of technology that will be integrated with Leopard that is just for Intel Macs. Why is it so bold? Boot Camp allows you to dual boot Windows XP and OS X on any Intel Mac. The software even includes Mac specific drivers for networking, graphics, audio, Airport wireless, and bluetooth (amongst other things).
You can download the public beta right now (it checks in at 83MB).

This is absolutely brilliant. The only thing holding me to a pc was autocad and 3ds max. Thanks Apple!!!

Proof of my dual boot intel iMac 20 inch!
I'm a Dell owner who wants to fry them in hot oil. I have a PowerBook that I love, but like a lot of other folks, I have a few programs that only run on a PC. I would much rather switch to a Mac but I do need the PC option, and Virtual PC is just too slow. If this really and truly works, I will definitely switch.

I am happy about that! Thanks for being here ;)
This is indeed awesome news and I really think it will encourage many switchers. One reason I waited for an Intel Mac was because I figured it would eventually run Windows as well as OS X but you know what? After using OS X for a while I really have no desire to install Windows. I might consider doing it just to get a native version of PhotoShop running until CS3 comes out.
