Boot Camp boosts Apple's stock 8%
It seems that
the geeks like you and me aren't the only ones excited about Apple's release of Boot Camp. This morning, Wall Street demonstrated
a bit of support, too, as Apple stock rose 8% in early trading.
True, it's just the beginning of the day, but we'll see what happens. I'm going to guess that, when this is built into the OS, it means increased Mac sales. This year's World Wide Developer's Conference should be a good one.

I think CompUSA could boost their Mac sales by selling Macs with both OS X and Windows installed. I doubt they could get the same deal on Windows that, for instance, Dell does but there will be people that will pay a premium to have both ready to go. It would also give them an edge over Apple stores because I just can see Apple selling Macs with Windows preinstalled.

I think you missed the real reason. Opening up Apple computers to other oses, will make Microsoft's legal problems in Europe more difficult. Europe will likely force computer makers to sell compters that can boot in Linux, OSX and/or windows.
Apple will use this to offer Leopard to select PC makers, Sony, HP and maybe Gateway, but never Dell.
The real money for Apple would be to displace Vista with OSX.
Apple switched to Intel to show that OSX would be the better choice for PC users.
Apple might release 10.5 for Macs and PCs before Vista.
