Boot Camp: Spread the word
Have you got a
friend/relative/whatever with an Intel Mac that would love to hear about Boot Camp? Or better still: Wouldn't you just
love to send this information off to that smug PC user you know, the one who always tells you that Macs are useless
toys? I sure would (and already have).Apple has built a page for doing just that. Tell the world. Macs do Windows.

You know, the irony of this just hit me - with the new Intel Macs you can run Windows, but not OS9. How messed-up is that?

This is amazing! Now I can frow out my noisy, ugly Dell from my office, and just boot up Windows on my MacBook when I need AutoCAD or Abaqus, or Skype 2.0. (Hope the iSight works under Windows. Anyone who knows?)
Only one thing left; being able to do this without rebooting.

As Jr. mentioned, this could pull the AutoCAD folks, and even better it could pull the gamers over. This is huuuuuuge.

Previous TUAW Post:
Here's what won't work in Windows on your Intel Mac:
iSight
Apple Remote
Apple USB modem
keyboard backlighting on the MacBook Pro
I disagree with your statement "Only one thing left; being able to do this without rebooting."
The only thing left is to get these Windows people to finally buy a Mac now that they can dual-boot; convince them they'd rather spend their time in OSX, and get their critical Windows apps ported to OSX.
The point of this "Boot Camp" silliness isn't for people to be running their Windows apps on Apple boxes permanently, it's to get them to take the plunge and sell them 100% on OSX.
Let's not lose sight of that.

This is huge, for me and for Apple. I had been holding off on purchasing a MacBook because I didn't want first generation hardware, but I just purchased a MacBook to replace my PowerBook G4 1.5ghz and my Dell Inspiron. For me it means conveniently carrying around 6lb of laptops instead of 13lb, and for Apple it means a BIG boost in hardware sales...

Well said, Billy K.
