I like how every single item on the front page is about Boot Camp. I mean, yeah, it's a big issue. But man are we Apple followers looking for something to talk about.

It is the big news of the day, but don't worry. Tomorrow will be much less Boot Camp focused.

Boot Camp looks like a great piece of software. Business that couldn't use Macs before (because of some Windows only apps) now have one less excuse. (price is still a problem, but I am sure it soon won't be.) :)

Microsoft should really include bubbly music like that to ease the painfully long install process. I am still amazed how even the latest Windows install programs start off as text based. How hard would it be to load a primitive GUI for that process? I'm glad that Apple has decided to make something like this. I use a (PPC) Mac mini as my primary computer but I still have a PC for gaming. Being able to boot into Windows from my Mac would save me the trouble of having to deal with my dull, beige box. Now if only I had an Intel Mac.

That looks very easy, but how long does it take to install?

That video made me cry with delight!
The install on Windows is great comparison OS X vs XP and how crappy an OS it really is.

Microsoft, unlike Apple, decided not to make a clean break with the past. Imagine OS X having to run OS 1-9 apps without dual booting.

The install took me about an 45 minutes but they sure made it easy. If you've already installed XP using the previous method make sure you wipe your drive and start over. What's really cool here is being able to partition your drive for Windows without wiping it. That's a huge plus. I chose to format the Windows volume as Fat32 that way OS X can read/write to that partition.

The music when the WIN XP installation starts is hilarious
also: ALL YOU JACKASSES WHO BITCH ABOUT ALL THE BOOT CAMP POSTS PLEASE NOTE THAT THEY ARE NOT BEING POSTED INSTEAD OF OTHER POSTS BUT IN ADDITION AND THAT OTHER NOTE WORTHY ITEMS WOULD STILL BE POSTED
so pull these sticks out your asses or at least ask yourself why you are going out your way to voice your negative opinion on the internet and please realize how futile it really is and that your opinion will have little impact on this weblog.
Thank you that is all.

I can't help but wonder if there's going to be a "surprise" at WWDC where it'll be announced that Windows will be able to run within in Leopard like they did with Classic mode. To me, this would be more appealing because you could have most of the security of OS X by using X for internet type activities and then use Windows for the apps you need. A dual boot situation is a PITA if you are going to use the two OSs in the way I describe. Plus, since the iMac supports a second screen, I think it would be a no brainer that you could have one OS per screen; there's gotta be an easy software solution that would have the keyboard follow the mouse from screen to screen.
This is the only way I'd accept Windows on a Mac. I'd almost bet that MBU is working with Apple to make it so.

adric_boom.... ur funny and im gonna laugh so hard when MAC OS get hit by viruses and hackers like never be fore and you will realize how stupid you really are for dissing XP. Apple realized in order to be as fast as PCs.. they needed to switch to INTEL... FINALLY. Of course windows will just always be more expandable, running windows on a mac would be dumb..if u do that there wont be any less problems..its gonna be the same type of hardware... so many more problems are gonna arise on the mac.. and you have no idea whats gonna hit you in the world of third party software....
FACE IT, YOUR JUST TOO DUMB TO USE WINDOWS..
sry but i had to vent, cuz im allergic to apple freaks who dont know whats gonna hit em.

I had forgotten how long it takes to actually install XP. Imagine doing that 2 or 3 times a year to get your computer running well again. No thanks.

Its quite amusing when the windows fanboys get all worked up.. They seem to revert to the base inteligence level, around 8 years old - ie before they learnt to spell.
